Katie de Albuquerque

Katie qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2005. After developing her interest for neurological physiotherapy at Imperial College Healthcare Trust she moved to the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, working as Specialist Physiotherapist for over a decade.

Katie has extensive experience working in areas including MS, PD, vestibular rehabilitation, neurosurgery, neuro-rehab and brain tumour care. She has a broad knowledge of specialist treatments including orthotics and splinting, functional electrical stimulation, exercise equipment and rehab technology. Katie is part of the 4D Life health and fitness programme for People with early to mid-stage Parkinson’s https://www.4dlife.org/

Katie continues to be fascinated by the brain and spinal cord and promoting a holistic approach to the recovery process. She enjoys working collaboratively with her clients, encouraging them to aim high in terms of goals and expectations. She understands the benefits that movement, exercise and nutrition can have on the mind & body and enjoys supporting clients to achieve their potential. Katie is a Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor.

Katie is a member of a number of physiotherapy clinical interest groups. She has completed both the Introduction to Bobath and APPI Pilates courses.
