Frequently asked questions

Here are answers to some questions you may have about NeuroConnect Rehabilitation.

If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

How many sessions will I need?

As all neurological presentations are different it is difficult to predict how many sessions will be needed. Whether you require a short burst of intervention or longer term rehabilitation, NeuroConnect physiotherapists are experts in setting realistic goals with a specific time frame. Following an initial assessment, we can guide you on how many therapy sessions you would benefit from in order to achieve your goals.

Will specialist neurological physiotherapy help me if my diagnosis was a long time ago?

The brain can ‘re-learn’ and make new connections many years after a neurological problem starts. Even if your condition has progressed a lot since your diagnosis or you have not had any therapy intervention for a long time, a burst of individualised neurological physiotherapy can help you.

Will specialist neurological physiotherapy help me if I am newly diagnosed with a neurological condition?

Early neurological physiotherapy input can help to improve or maintain your function. We can provide condition specific advice regarding optimal activity levels and education to avoid known potential complications.

What clothing should I wear during physiotherapy sessions?

We recommend that you wear loose and comfortable clothing and flat shoes to help you move more freely.

Will I need any equipment for physiotherapy sessions?

One of the benefits of neurological physiotherapy at home is that we can tailor your treatment using the environment in which you live. We can bring small pieces of equipment to sessions if required.
